C.C. CROSS C.C. Cross was born and raised in Waco, Texas, lived in Arlington and found herself in College Station as a young adult. When she wasn't working or in class, she spent most her free nights at The Dixie Chicken, Hurricane Harry's and Bullwinkles -- places where only a real education in music could be found. Cross discovered her voice at a young age, singing in the Seventh and James Baptist Church children's choir. She sang solos, played piano and wrote her first song at age 10. She picked up a guitar in her early 20s and found an outlet to celebrate the classic country sounds she'd grown up with and the singer-songwriter elements she'd come to enjoy. Her first foray into Texas country music came in 2004, when she finished as first runner-up in Johnnie High's Music Revue contest. Her band, the CC Cross Band, finished first runner-up in the Shiner Rising Star competition in 2008 and 2009. And in recent years she's been a finalist in two different songwriting contests honoring BW Stevenson (2011) and Rusty Wier (2012). In 2009, Cross lent her voice to Philip Adam's Grammy-nominated album, "The Fiddler and the Rose." Her resume of who she's shared the stage with reads like a Who's Who of Texas country music: Chris Wall, Lost Immigrants, Colin Boyd, Darryl Lee Rush, Mark David Manders, Deryl Dodd, Matt Hillyer, Dave Perez, Rachel Stacy, Kevin Deal, Thomas Michael Riley, Chip Campbell, Jerrod Medulla, Nate Kipp, Chuck Allen Floyd, Ed Burleson, Robby White, Wayne the Train Hancock, Two Tons of Steel, Band of Heathens, Austin Cunningham, Rodney Parker, John David Kent, Adam Carroll, Max Stalling and Tommy Alverson.
